About this site

Local Blind Fitters exists to answer one household question properly: when you need blinds, should you measure and fit them yourself, or pay someone to do it? Most advice online is written by companies with a horse in the race. We try to lay out the trade-offs honestly, including when the right answer is "don't buy anything yet".

What we cover

  • How to measure windows accurately for each type of blind
  • What DIY fitting involves, tool by tool and step by step
  • Realistic UK cost expectations for professional fitting
  • How measure-and-fit services work and what to ask before booking
  • Awkward cases: bay windows, bathrooms, rentals and child safety

Editorial rules

  • We never invent statistics. Where guides mention prices, they are clearly labelled as indicative ranges, not quotes or survey data.
  • Affiliate relationships never change a recommendation. Guides that contain affiliate links say so at the top.
  • We do not publish templated "blind fitters in [town]" pages. Every page on this site is written individually to be useful on its own.
  • Safety guidance (child safety, working at height, uPVC drilling) takes priority over convenience or cost in every guide.

Funding

The site is funded by affiliate commissions from UK blind retailers. The full details are on how we make money.
